About Me

I have traveled playing music in The United States, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Canada, The caribbean, Argentina and Brazil.

It's been challenging, fun, FUNNY, difficult, exciting and scary. I've met some amazing people, learned so much about life, music and myself.

I've said many times that I'm not good at writing, but I love to share my experiences through photos in my blog.
I hope you enjoy!

My AUTOBIOGRAHPY
The only thing in life I ever really wanted to be was singer. I somehow have been able to achieve that dream! That's pretty incredible when I think about it!

As a child I was pretty much an entertainer for anyone who would listen. I would sing, dance and tell stories ... I was what they call a 'ham'.

As I grew older, things in my life changed and I became a very busy and a much focused girl. Throughout my teen years, I was involved in choirs, drama, piano, sports and Scottish dancing. Many of my weekends were either spent at Scottish festivals for a dance competition or in the dance studio training.

I went to East Carolina University to study Music and eventually decided I would concentrate on music education because I love children and hoped (and still hope) to one day have children of my own. So, I thought music education would be great preparation for that. I loved being a music student at ECU!

After college, I moved to Scotland to study Scottish Gaelic at the School of Scottish Studies in Edinburgh. I fell in love with Scotland and to this day I will still tell people it has been the best place I've ever lived outside of North Carolina. This was an amazing turning point in my life. When all my friends were getting jobs in their respective careers, I was living in Scotland taking classes for no credit and learning so much about myself.

After Scotland, I moved to Florida where I fell into a job singing at a local Irish pub with an English Keyboard player (who is now my producer, BOB NOBLE) and a Chinese fiddle player. (Weird?...I'd say yes, very weird). Eventually, somehow through a series of odd events, I ended up touring Holland, Germany and Belgium for about 6 months.

...and yes...there is more strange gypsy ways to follow..... Speaking of Gypsies, I moved to Ireland where I would stay for two years while playing music in the pubs and living in Co. Leitrim in a small village called Tullaghan. It was beautiful...and when the sun would shine...breathtaking! In Tullaghan, and with all the characters from Bundoran and kinloch, I grew tremendously as an artist and entertainer. I learned so much about life and laughter!

I then had a brief several months in Toronto, Canada on the Irish music scene. However, at that point my heart was in the Carolinas and I wanted to go back home...the simple desire of belonging. As fate would have it, I moved back to my former University town and after only being back in the US for two years, I met the man who would be become my husband and we moved to Porto Alegre, Brazil.

After living in Brazil for three years, we have now moved to Sacramento, CA for his Job and we are expecting our first baby in April 2010!
