Article in the Tideland News, Swansboro NC

Many thanks to Brad Rich at the Tideland news for the wonderful article he wrote for our upcoming Celtic Christmas Concert in Swansboro NC!

Weather aside, it doesn’t feel like fall in Swansboro until the Mullet Festival, and it doesn’t feel entirely like Christmas until Jennifer Licko sings.  The Friendly City by the Sea native will kick off the season again this year, bringing her Celtic Christmas show to town on Dec. 15.

Although there are sure to be familiar elements in the concert - it’s the third year in a row for the show - the Minnesota-based Licko promised a new wrinkle or two, Thanks to a new band, which includes fiddler Zack Kline and guitarist/banjo player/backing vocalist Patsy O’Brien.

Celtic Christmas Concert Review

Thanks to Brad Rich at the Tideland News in Swansboro for attending my Celtic Christmas Concert in Eastern North Carolina and for the review!
Here are some quotes from Brad's awesome review!

Jennifer Licko ushers in Christmas, Celtic Style.

"Licko, who when not playing acoustic guitar or simply singing played the bodhran (irish drum), was equally at home with the Irish and Scottish compositions and the more standard American fare; it was obvious that if she chose to stick to country or folk music, she could easily be a household name in pop music."

"Noble, who lives in South Florida, shone with several excellent solos, clearly at home in any style, and Foley displayed his formidable, award-widding fiddle chops on a number or Irish reels, which might not have been holiday tunes, but fit perfectly into the good-time feel of the two-hour show."

"Licko was clearly grateful to the hometown crowd and to the sponsors and others who made the show possible.  She particularly thanked Julia Wax and Emerald Isle Realty - the main sponsor - for providing the house where Foley and Noble stayed and where they hastily rehearsed for a show that turned out to be simultaneously polished and personal."

THANK YOU TIDELAND NEWS AND BRAD RICH!

Going back to North Carolina

Going back to North Carolina and playing at church street Irish pub in my hometown of Swansboro was GREAT!

The best part about the performance at church street was Antonio experiencing the fun of our town!

really was great to be back where every body knows your name and they all speak English with the same accents as I have!

And Kellie back from Iraq singing for us! Thanks girl...I think Swansboro has missed us being abroad! Of course, you were off serving our country and putting your life at risk...lots of admiration for you Kellie!
After our small hurricane friday evening (hannah) I played at RA Fountain.

I love that I always have my roots in North Carolina and when ever I return from Europe or South America ...or whereever I've been...I'm still feel acceptance and love! THANK YOU for the support!
